The day of the 6th of February promises to be an informative and eventful one with erudite scholars and stalwarts in the field of finance coming together on one platform to discuss the financial world today. The Department of Financial Studies (University of Delhi) , designated as a Centre of Excellence for Finance Education is proud to be hosting the UGC-SAP Seminar 2010. The theme for this year’s discussion is ‘Contemporary Issues in Global Financial Markets”. The financial landscape is an ever changing one, and here new issues and challenges can cause vast upheavals. In the post- crisis arena, an examination of the contemporary issues faced seems in perfect order. The Chief Guest for the session would be Prof. L. C. Gupta, Chaired Committee on Derivatives of SEBI, with the keynote address being delivered by Mr.Anil Bisen, Advisor to the Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India. The First Technical Session on Bonds and Equities would bring the spotlight on issues of immediate concern such as structured finance, over leverage in the world, the status of IPO markets and how we see the Bull run and M&As in the future.
